Green Bay Area Pain and Comfort Team

The Green Bay Area Pain and Comfort Team is a group of people
dedicated to the purpose of alleviating pain and improving
management skills for those we serve. This team is a cooperative
effort among area hospitals, clinics, hospice, palliative care, home
health care agencies, universities, support groups, long term health
care facilities and interested community members.
The PACT committee has strived to be a resource for pain management
and pain information and is proud of its accomplishments to date.
Some examples of these accomplishments include:

 Pain assessment clipboards for nurses in the community;
 Pain booklet for patients in hospitals, clinics, hospice, community;
 Pain scales and pain assessment posters in English, Hmong,
   Laotian, Russian and Spanish;
 Pain Assessment method for those unable to communicate or speak
   about their pain;
 Health Care Professional and public education seminars on pain
   during September, which is Pain Awareness Month;
 Development of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of
   Pain Management Nurses;
 Poster presentations at national conferences on our research
   findings;
 Pain research with patients and healthcare professionals to
   establish guidelines for pain management;
 Community Resource Guide for People with Pain;
 Development of local internet resources on pain for professionals
   and the public;

Currently, we meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month
at St. Vincent Hospital.
